What does a member of ACO do, anyway?

ACO members are many things to many people, but mostly we go to practice twice a week, host tournaments on occasion (both high school and college tournaments, which you can read more about in the "tournaments" section), and use the university's money to pay for lodging in cities that aren't Kirksville, MO, such as: Champaign, IL, Grinnell, IA, Iowa City, and St. Louis. (if we're lucky, sometimes we even get out of the Midwest)

How do I become a member?

In short, all you have to do is show up consistently to meetings. We aren't going to chop off your hands if you don't come twice a week for every week of the semester, but those who show up at least once a week are pretty much guaranteed to go to some tournaments.

ACO doesn't discriminate based on race, religion, major, et al. We'll let you join even if you smell bad, although we might put you off to the side. Currently, the team is dominated by white male history majors; don't let that keep you from joining, though; we've trained them up so they only bite when provoked.

What's in it for me to become a member?

Guns, gold, and glory - what else? We also offer an excellent health plan. Joking aside, most people join because they love trivia, competition, and aren't any good at sports. ACO lets you leave Kirksville for a weekend and have a release during the week to hang out and have fun.
